Israel MoEP enforcing vehicle exclusion rules in Haifa Bay Low Emission Zone; $2.8M to retrofit 700 diesel trucks with DPFs

Low-Emission Zone now operational in downtown Haifa; Israel’s first; initially targeting heavy diesels

As of 2 February 2018, polluting heavy diesel vehicles were no longer allowed in downtown Haifa. The creation of a low-emission zone (LEZ) is part of a larger plan to reduce air pollution from transportation in Haifa.
