The governing boards of the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach unanimously approved the 2017 Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP) Update , ushering in a new era of aggressive clean air strategies for moving cargo through the nation’s busiest container port complex. The approval launches the process for developing and refining specific programs.

The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach released the draft of their proposed 2017 C lean Air Action Plan (CAAP) Update. A preliminary analysis estimates the cost of implementing the 2017 CAAP at $7 billion to $14 billion. The 2017 CAAP identifies the tougher measures needed to ratchet down emissions to zero or near-zero levels.
