The BMW Group is systematically expanding the intelligent connectivity capabilities of its vehicles by seamlessly integrating Amazon’s voice-controlled personal assistant Alexa into all BMW and MINI models from mid-2018. Tens of thousands of Alexa skills that can be accessed from Echo devices will now be available for in-car use, as well.

This same concept is applied in the AcuraWatch safety and driver-assistive suite available on all model year 2016 Acura sedans and SUVs. The vehicle will be tested by Honda Research Institute USA at GoMentum Station, a 5,000-acre automated and connected vehicle proving ground in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Eight of the pre-owned vehicles will be available soon for UC Davis faculty and staff to rent through the campus’s UC Drive program, which is managed by the Fleet Services department. We also want to learn how fleets can incorporate used electric vehicles, which are available at a lower price than newer generations.
