At the Geneva Motor Show, Toyota Motor Europe (TME) announced that European sales of hybrid vehicles reached an all-time high in 2013 totaling 156,863 units, up 43% year-on-year. total TME sales, including several countries outside of the EU. This progress is mainly due to the excellent sales performance of hybrid models.

The new Yaris Hybrid—the first full hybrid vehicle to go on sale in the European B-segment—made its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
