While OEMs and utilities continue to define and refine hardware standards and communication protocols for smart charging, a tremendous amount of work needs to be done in preparing both the grid and the process to accommodate the expected influx of plug-ins, and to make the process as easy as possible for consumers.

With the coming solar feed-in tariff legislation moving through Sacramento that will pay us for the extra solar energy we produce and feed back into the grid. Good for the grid, good for you, good for the electric company (who won’t meet their AB 32 state mandates for renewable energy generation without our help).
