Late last year, Volvo launched its very first all-electric model in North America. It’s called the XC40 Recharge, and the earliest versions aren’t cheap, priced from about $55,000 including delivery. Where it falls down is its EPA-rated range: a mere 208 miles. My quick road test revealed both pros and cons of the XC40 Recharge.

Beginning in September, six Navistar eStar all-electric, zero-emission trucks ( earlier post ) will be part of Coca-Cola’s growing fleet of alternative fuel vehicles (AFV) in North America; the AFV fleet will surpass 750 units by the end of this year. The new eStar trucks will be deployed in San Francisco, New York City, Washington, D.C.

Oh, and could you get used to 32 miles of all-electric driving and 30+ mph when in hybrid mode? The plug means the 2021 Pacifica has a 32-mile all-electric driving range, which for most people is far more than they will drive in their daily routine. The Pacifica runs on a gas engine–and two electric motors.
