Ford unveiled the new Ford Focus four-door sedan prior to its debut at the 2014 New York International Auto Show next week. The debut of the new Focus four-door sedan and the Focus Electric in New York follows the Geneva Motor Show debut in March of the Focus three- and five-door hatchback and wagon.

Late last year, Volvo launched its very first all-electric model in North America. The XC40 Recharge has considerably more horsepower and torque than its gasoline-powered AWD counterpart: 300 kilowatts (402 hp) and 486 lb-ft versus 248 hp and 258 lb-ft. Like a Tesla, the electric Volvo doesn’t need a button or key to start.

GM will introduce the Chevrolet Volt extended range electric vehicle with a starting MSRP of $41,000; after applying the Federal income tax credit of $7,500, the price drops to $33,500. The Volt has a total driving range of about 340 miles (547 km) and is powered by electricity at all times.
