The Novus plant will process agricultural waste into fuel, natural gas, organic fertilizer and other bio-based products. Novus is working with an Oregon lender, Old West Federal Credit Union, to finance the project. The biorefinery will be built on land owned by the Port of Morrow, one of the largest ports in Oregon.

Oregon-based Fred Meyer Stores, a division of The Kroger Co. has taken delivery of its first 11 Freightliner heavy-duty trucks that run on liquefied natural gas (LNG). Fred Meyer will receive a total of 40 LNG trucks over the next several months, making Fred Meyer the first in Oregon to deploy a fleet of heavy-duty LNG trucks.
