Duke Energy and Ford Motor Company are partnering on a vehicle-to-grid (V2G) pilot. Pilot incentives will reduce vehicle lease payments for program participants who lease an eligible electric vehicle (EV), including Ford F-150 Lightning trucks. Additionally, customers will need Ford’s software package to enroll in the program.

And EV owners would become entrepreneurs, selling electricity back to the grid. And indeed, that’s how promoters of vehicle-to-grid technology perceive the EV.
