The modified van is equipped with a 220-volt battery to power onboard accessories, which can be recharged using a roof-mounted solar panel. Inside, you get a refrigerator.

A new study by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) has found that there are currently 6.2 million medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles on the EU’s roads, the average age of which is 13 years. Almost 98% of all these trucks run on diesel, according to the 2021 Vehicles in Use report. Just some 2,300—or 0.04% of the total fleet—are zero-emission trucks.

Mercedes-Benz has introduced the EQA, the new entry-level model to the all-electric world of Mercedes-EQ vehicles. The EQA is the first all-electric member of the compact car vehicle from Mercedes-Benz. A close relation of the GLA, it delivers all the characteristics of that vehicle, combined in this case with an efficient electric power train. Ørsted has taken final investment decision on the Danish demonstration project H2RES, which will use offshore wind energy to produce renewable hydrogen. ( Earlier post.) On January 14, Governor Baker pocket vetoed Senate Bill 2995, An Act Creating a Next Generation Roadmap for Climate Policy. The bill was passed by the legislature too late in the session to override the veto. The governor wrote a five-page letter of explanation that we did not find persuasive. Already, the bill has been refiled and we are optimistic that the bill will be passed again and , if it is vetoed, the legislature will override.

Bridgestone Corporation announced results of its four-year collaboration with genomic big data solutions company NRGene to advance the commercialization of guayule, an alternative to natural rubber, as part of the effort to diversify its sources of raw materials.
