Fraunhofer working on optimized methanol reformers to deliver hydrogen

Green Car Congress

Methanol reformers convert easy-to-transport methanol into hydrogen. Converting hydrogen into methanol can provide a solution, as not only is methanol much easier to transport than hydrogen, it can also be stored almost unlimited at ambient pressure. However, conventional reformers have a number of drawbacks such as catalyst attrition.

ULEMCo delivers first hydrogen dual fuel road sweeper to Aberdeen City Council

Green Car Congress

Emission savings of around 30% are projected from the refitting of ULEMCo technology onto the DAF truck, and the partners believe this makes it best in class for both CO 2 and air quality emissions for this type of vehicle. In September 2017, ULEMCo reported completing the first hydrogen fuel conversion for a UK commercial waste company.

Green Technology Patents Represent More Than Half of GM 2009 Filings

Green Car Congress

One of GM’s innovations involves the creation of a shape memory alloy (SMA) heat engine for power generation from waste engine heat. Traditional catalysts use platinum, but a team of GM researchers discovered the material perovskite can provide performance equal to platinum at a much lower cost. Source: GM. Click to enlarge.
