Porsche is planning to set up its own fast-charging stations offering a premium charging experience along Europe’s most important routes. As a pilot site, the first Porsche Charging Lounge has opened outside Bingen am Rhein. Further Porsche Charging Lounges are currently planned for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Just a few months after the launch, Porsche is expanding its charging service for plug-in and electric vehicles ( earlier post ) by five countries and additional functions. The platform now has more than 49,000 charging points in twelve countries. A new feature offered by the Porsche Charging Service is a rating function.

Nuvera Fuel Cells, LLC, a provider of fuel cell power solutions for motive applications, is powering the hydrogen fuel cell reachstacker that Hyster has developed and shipped to the Port of Valencia in Spain. The hydrogen is stored in high-pressure tanks and can be refilled less than 15 minutes.

Tesla’s open Supercharger program, which allows non-Tesla electric vehicles to charge at the company’s rapid-charging stations, has been expanded to several more countries in Europe. Non-Tesla vehicles can now charge at select Superchargers in Austria, Belgium, Spain, Sweden and the UK via the Tesla app.

In the other major cities in Germany, France, Spain and Italy, WeShare vehicles on offer will include Volkswagen’s e-Golf and e-up! One of the major challenges faced by WeShare in Berlin is battery charging. Schwarz is currently installing a total of 140 public charging stations at 60 Lidl and 10 Kaufland locations in Berlin.
