UK-based Connected Energy and Groupe Renault have installed two quick-charge stations based on Connected Energy’s E-STOR energy storage technology on highways in Belgium and Germany. Economical and simple to install, E-STOR will contribute to the development of a network of quick-charging stations in Europe.

Under the new contract, around 65% of the electricity supply comes from hydropower, while the remainder comes from solar power, wind power and other renewable sources. At the Ghent plant in Belgium, Volvo Cars installed 15,000 solar panels in 2018, the first large-scale introduction of solar energy in its global manufacturing network.

BYD ATTO 3 (Source: BYD) VW has also been slashing prices on the ID line in France, Belgium, Germany, and Norway, among other countries. Belgium and Sweden will also see revised vehicles and lower prices. In Belgium, the ID3 is now priced at €39,990 and the ID4 for €39,649, both now eligible for an EV bonus of €5,000.

Battery modules and cells needed in Belgium for the Audi e-tron and Audi e-tron Sportback were up to now transported by truck over the approximately 1,300-kilometer-long route from the supplier in Hungary. In Hungary and Belgium, Audi uses DBeco neutral. New equipment and processes have been installed specifically for this purpose.
