NTSB said that examination of the flight recorder data from the JAL B-787 airplane indicated that the APU battery did not exceed its designed voltage of 32 volts. The lithium-ion battery that powered the auxiliary power unit has been examined in the NTSB Materials Laboratory in Washington. Both investigations remain ongoing.

An independent test of Nissan LEAF battery capacity and range loss organized by Inside EV writer and LEAF owner Tony Williams has found significant battery capacity loss—and therefore range loss—in the EVs. But, he was wrong about the batteries. That’s within 2% between the two figures and a reasonable error.
