The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to make it easier for manufacturers to gain approval to sell fuel conversion systems. The proposed rule would cover conversions of light-duty vehicles and heavy-duty highway vehicles and engines, and would apply to all clean alternative fuels.

A CNG vehicle reduces CO 2 emissions by about 25% compared to a gasoline-driven equivalent. Only a pure electric vehicle running on 100% renewable energy would offer a better overall outcome. But even in the event of using the gasoline tank, the switch is so seamless that the driver is unlikely to notice.

Government has set very rigorous standards for future fuel economy, and we believe that clean diesel is perfectly positioned to help us achieve those goals. Audi believes there are a variety of viable alternative fuel solutions, including electric, but diesel is readily available today.

The report concluded that benefits in the medium- and long-term can be anticipated since the obtaining of an alternative fuel using a residual greenhouse gas would allow European dependence on conventional fossil fuels to be cut, and that way the risks in supply security to be minimized.

If we didn’t have enough hurdles to electric vehicle adoption in the US, one of the challenges that drives me absolutely bonkers is the confusing and inconsistent use of charging terminology. To scale up EV adoption we need to increase consumer awareness and understanding of the “electric refueling” process. But nobody else cares. .
