BMW i8 beats Mercedes S 500 PHEV, Golf GTE to win World Green Car award in New York

The BMW i8 plug-in hybrid ( earlier post ) was named the World Green Car at the World Car Awards in New York. The BMW i8 was also one of the finalists in the category World Luxury Car at the World Car Awards. Its battery-electric sibling, the BMW i3, took the same award in 2014.

Honda Clarity Fuel Cell EPA-rated with 366-mile range; longest of any ZEV
