Established in 2017, VinFast owns an automotive manufacturing complex that features up to 90% automation in Hai Phong, Vietnam.

Thirty-seven percent of Southeast Asian consumers planning to buy a car are open to purchasing an electric vehicle, according to a Nissan-commissioned study by Frost & Sullivan. While demand remained largely concentrated in China, Europe, and the US, growth also picked up in some emerging markets such as Vietnam and Thailand, where electric cars accounted for 15% and 10%, respectively, of all cars sold.
