Pennsylvania has awarded more than $3 million in Fuel Incentive Grants (AFIG) to 33 companies, counties and organizations making the switch to compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), or propane for medium to light-weight fleet vehicles. This year, AFIG grants focused on medium- to light-weight vehicles.

According to the Federal Highway Administration, the average fuel economy for all light vehicles on the road today is 22.3 cents in Pennsylvania. Based on average mpg and miles driven, a person owning a gasoline vehicle pays between $141 and $398 in fuel taxes each year, depending upon the state in which the fuel is purchased.

Halliburton, one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the energy industry, is deploying nearly 100 light-duty Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks across several field locations in the US.
