Proposed Federal EV Tax Credit Reform: Will It Move the Sales Needle?

I’m personally not a fan of the Qualified Plug-In Electric Drive Motor Vehicles (IRC 30D) – commonly referred to as the “Federal EV tax credit” – as I believe it has been an abysmal failure. The overall EU EV (BEV and PHEV) sales share ended up around 10 percent, versus the 3 percent for 2019.
