As efforts continue to make London the electric vehicle capital of Europe, Transport for London has added four Mitsubishi i-MiEVs to its fleet. The four vehicles are partly funded by the Government’s Low Carbon Procurement Partnership and is the first step in an effort to bring 1,000 electric vehicles to the city’s fleet by 2015.

Energy firm EDF Energy has secured a partnership with Peugeot and Citroen to supply electric vehicle recharging products and services to electric car buyers. Both fleet and residential customers who buy a Peugeot iON or Citroen C-Zero will have access to EDF’s package of recharging services.

A Nottingham-based printing firm is taking advantage of zero emission-and near zero cost-motoring thanks to a fleet of no less than six Nissan Leaf electric cars. With a huge solar panel array on the 43,000 square foot roof of RCS Printers Plc the cars can largely recharge using clean, renewable energy harvested for free.

The company says it has already signed letters of intent with nine companies and administrations for car sharing projects and large fleets in Europe. The i0n made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September with Citroen also announcing its version of the car – to be known as the C-ZERO – earlier this week.
