Porsche increases electric range for all Cayenne E-Hybrid PHEVs by up to 30%

Porsche has increased the electric range of all its Cayenne plug-in hybrid models. The gross capacity of the high-voltage battery is now 17.9 kWh rather than 14.1 kWh, which boosts the electric range by up to 30%. Measured in line with the WLTP EAER City cycle, the Cayenne E-Hybrid can now cover up to 48 kilometers (30 miles) with zero local emissions (NEDC: up to 56 kilometers), while the Turbo S E-Hybrid covers up to 42 kilometers (26 miles) (NEDC: up to 53 kilometres).

Fisker maps out reservations for Ocean electric SUV, sets sights on Europe

Fisker on Monday announced a spike in reservations for its Ocean electric SUV, and began sketching out plans for a European launch. The startup opened reservations for the Ocean on November 27, 2019—before actually unveiling the SUV at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show the following January. CALSTART survey finds Tier-1 suppliers want stronger post-2026 fuel economy targets

The third installment of a CALSTART-commissioned survey of Tier-1 US automotive suppliers found that a majority (62%) of the suppliers responding to the survey disagreed with the Trump administration’s rollback of national fuel economy standards. Only 15% of respondents agreed with the rollback, and the rest were undecided. The same majority (62%) agreed that policies which force or encourage the uptake of fuel efficiency technologies tend to encourage job growth at their companies.
