How I Caught a Shady Seller Using a Free VIN Check

DIY Electric Car

Hey all, Just wanted to share a quick story and maybe help someone else avoid a mistake. I was looking at a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee last week looked great, low miles, clean title (according to the seller). I asked for the VIN and did a free check using NICB. Boom it was flagged as a salvage title from Florida. Seller said he “didn’t know” and then ghosted me.

MG4 backs away from battle with BYD Dolphin and GWM Ora to be Australia’s cheapest EV with price rises that sees up to $3000 added to electric hatch

EV Central

Prices for the 2025 MG4 will rise again next month with the cheapest MG4 Excite 51 set to rise to $37,990 drive-away – $1000 more than it’s priced currently. The increased price is a world away from late last year when the popular small hatch sold for as little as $30,990 drive-away. No reasons have been given for the rises, but MG Australia has previously indicated the car would never be sold at $30,990 again – and that steady price rises were on the cards for the MG4.

1984 Jeep CJ-7 - Stock EV Conversion

DIY Electric Car

Hi All, Here is my Stock EVC project - first, 'Stock EVC' means I'm ONLY replacing the ICE engine and ANYTHING that feeds it. So, all fuel, obviously, power steering pump, radiator (at least in size), etc., etc., etc. The line of demarcation is the bellhousing - from the bellhousing back through the power train (and forward from the transfer case to front diff) - all stock and NOT upgraded or touched.

Has anyone used an MG4 as a donor vehicle?

DIY Electric Car

I recently bought an MG4 from a salvage auction in South Australia. It is recorded as a "written off vehicle" meaning can not be repaired and reregistered in Australia. I'm guessing because it is an EV and the authorities had no idea regarding what is safe and what is not, and the insurance company that sent it to auction didn't want the hassle of having to get it repaired.
