At SEMA360, Chevrolet will showcase a 1977 K5 Blazer converted to all-electric propulsion. To convert the 1977 K5 Blazer, the team first removed from the Blazer the original 175-horsepower, 400 cubic-inch (6.55-liter) DC-to-AC power inverter to drive the electric motor. Lately Goldman has been driving one around DC, meeting with policy makers and pushing for consumer incentives for hybrid conversions. Hybrid drivers in California could finally actually get their hybrid converted.

If the 12V battery is dead, you need a small 12V battery (9V would probably work) to activate the DC-DC converter relay to bootstrap the 12V charging process. I topped off its water to increase its storage capacity a bit. This presents the dilemma of running down the 12V battery while the main pack is charging.
