I've already added the 3-hole cap-plug provided in the kit. After cutting all the tape that bound the engine compartment cables together, I slid on the three-hole cap-plug from the kit and bonded it in place with silicone sealant. I suspect this will keep water and other outside elements from getting into the vehicle.

If the 12V battery is dead, you need a small 12V battery (9V would probably work) to activate the DC-DC converter relay to bootstrap the 12V charging process. I topped off its water to increase its storage capacity a bit. This presents the dilemma of running down the 12V battery while the main pack is charging.
