I know this is an EV forum, but I'm interested in input from this community on feasability of my admittedly wild ideas. Project summary : Take an old, pre-2000s class A diesel pusher to a P2 hybrid, able to operate as a PHEV for short ranges, but leaves the ICE able to couple to the drivetrain.

My professional life has kept me busy, but I still have made good progress on my conversion. First, someone on the forums has offered to sell an adapter from one of their former conversions. They couldn't wrap their heads around the idea I wanted a manual rack, even though I have a car with a power rack.

I have no idea what they cost. Can they be overvolted to say 96V? Can you recommend any motors that are under say $1000 and will fit under the bonnet/boot? The forklift guy said that the 48V motors are too big and heavy. On another topic? is a rear-engine RWD car easiest for a novice? or front-engined FWD? Some other cars I?m

My original idea was just to mount the amp meter, voltmeter, ect on top of the dashboard. My first Instrument Idea involved the adaptation of a digital volt meter as the pack voltmeter. All of this went back together very nicely and concluded phase 3 of the project ( choose, purchase and install the electronics of the EV conversion).

I was hoping someone would give my an idea of the cost of going electric. I'm trying to decide if I was to go with another gas engine or turn it into a electric car. If I go gas it will probably cost me $2000 or so. Around town here it is flat terran. If I was to build my spit for here with top speed of 50mph and say 25 to 50 mile range.

i would like to see maybe Smith America build a conversion of their current cars, maybe have a retrofit model so you dont have to get rid of the trucks at all, just upgrade! lots of stops and starts so plenty of options for regen braking too. Not to mention the parts you most definitely could sell from the running gear. Its a Lotus.

One idea is to add a built up single gear rear wheel. It would be appreciated by DIY folks, as it will reduce the assembly complexity. The one fitted on my cycle has come off, with all its screws sheared off. Felidae has also plans for having an independent components business under the name Dogra.

The idea is that when your car needs more energy, you can drive your car into a station and, like an automated car wash, your depleted battery is replaced robotically by one that has a full charge. Maybe you should ask some engineers at the local power utility before you go shooting your mouth off, decrying how the idea will never fly.

Theres a company in Guernsey (a UK island) which does conversions (the Mk1 shape), but I want a current shape model and a 60 mile range is just fine. The first one was the Zytek design you mentioned, but this is a 2nd "new and improved" design from Tesla, with more power, higher speed and greater range.
