I pre-laid out these batteries on the floor to guestimate what the connections between the terminals were. I couldn't find a good solution with the copper bars supplied by ElectroAuto, so I just took my best guess and gave it a shot. I've got an e-mail into ElectroAuto for some connection diagrams, but haven't received the files yet.

After studying the AC kit diagrams and reading the motor controller documentation from Azure Dynamics, I think I understand a little better what all these relays and terminal strips are for. To allow enough room for wire connections and put the pieces in roughly the right place, I had to angle some of them. I think that's it for today.

The original kit doesn't use the red light and the green light is simply grounded. Since the indicators on the dash already have one side tied to the 12V supply, I simply used a 2N2222 transistor (buy a pack of them at Radio Shack) to drive the two indicators. The READY/FAULT output signals on the DMOC are unbuffered 3.3V

I double checked the connections on the neutral-start relay in the engine compartment and everything looked fine. The kit requires the 12V accessory battery to run the exhaust fans while the car charges overnight, so I altered the circuit to use an external 12V laptop supply instead so I wouldn't drain the accessory battery.

Note: The AC kit instructions don't say what to install the charger tray with. I didn't find this and added my own red wire for the fan that goes back to the upper terminal block to the brown fan-power supply wire. All three battery box fans spun up without too much noise, so all the connections seem well. Get your WooGah on!

Jerry is the owner of a PHEV Prius with Plug in Supply conversion kit, plus solar panels on the roof installed by Bob Bruninga, Naval Academy engineering professor. It also has floor brakes and accelerator.

Here is the 9-in-1 wire for the AC kit pulled through the grommet between the passenger compartment and the fuel compartment. The yellow and brown wire need to come out of the flexwrap so that we can connect them to circuits in the front luggage compartment. The instructions call for a "Y" connector which ElectroAuto didn't supply.
