Production version of i-MiEV unveiled

Considered by many to be the ultimate eco-car, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation finally unveiled the production version of the i-MiEV as part of World Environment Day in Tokyo. The company will then start sales of the i-MiEV to individuals starting in April 2010 with orders to be taken on the Mitsubishi website starting in late July.

Hyundai boosted by early hybrid success

Hyundai Motor Corporation has received more than 1,000 pre-sale orders for the Avente/Elantra LPI hybrid since June 17 ahead of the car going on sale in South Korea on July 8. The LPI Hybrid qualifies as a Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle and has a fuel economy rating of 17.8km/l (42mpg) - the petrol equivalent fuel economy is 51mpg.
