Thanks to the strong financial incentives offered by the Cash-For-Clunkers program , the average gas mileage of new vehicles sold in the U.S. during August reached a record high: 23 miles per gallon, up 8 percent from the 21.2 mpg in August 2008.

Using existing technology, we can convert many of them into plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles. We can upgrade vehicles too. Meanwhile, we all still need to drive all the time.

A plug and a pack can make a car a 101 MPG vehicle aided by electricity. ! Cause if you're without wheels, which is due to $4, $5, $6/gallon for gasoline, then "Happiness" is not likely yours! After all, if the US Stimulus Package program could do "Cash for Clunkers," then why not "Cash for Conversions!".

Only 16% say gas prices will be not very or not at all important when they are deciding on the next vehicle they purchase. For 48%, it is a very important factor.

A new Rasmussen telephone poll found that 81% of Americans oppose an “ increase the tax on gasoline by a large amount ” as a way to encourage the purchase of more fuel-efficient cars. 15% of men support a big tax increase on gasoline to push sales of fuel-efficient cars, compared to 6% of women.
