Concord Energy, one of Singapore’s leading crude oil and refined petroleum product trading companies, has signed an agreement with cellulosic biogasoline company Cool Planet Energy Systems ( earlier post ) to establish a joint venture in the Asia-Pacific Region. Cool Planet’s technology has a broad portfolio of pending and granted patents.

The agreement grants Mitsui the right to build a number of biomass refineries in Southeast Asia using Inbicon’s technology. Mitsui intends to apply the technology in the palm oil industry, where wastes from palm oil production can be converted into ethanol, solid biofuel for energy production, and animal feed.
