The chair of the Senate Finance Committee said on Monday he was expanding its probe into German automaker BMW ‘s use of electronic components from a banned Chinese supplier. The report found Bourns Inc, a California-based auto supplier, had sourced components from JWD, which was added to the UFLPA Entity List in December.

A report by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden’s staff said BMW imported 8,000 Mini Coopers with parts from a Chinese supplier banned under a 2021 law and that BMW continued to import products with the banned parts until at least April. .” Senate report released on Monday said.

According to Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s annual battery survey, annual battery pack prices fell 6% from 2020 to 2021. According to the Green Car Congress, the cells alone account for 82% of the entire cost of an EV battery pack. While all of this is good news, the study shows that prices may rise slightly.
