Toyota Motors has joined the London Hydrogen Partnership (LHP), the first major automaker to do so. The LHP was set up in 2002 to develop a network of hydrogen fuel cell (HFC) stakeholders in the capital and help develop HFC technologies in London.

Five Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell vehicles joining London hydrogen project

Five Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell models ( earlier post ) are joining the London Hydrogen Network Expansion (LNHE) project. The LHNE project, a government-backed initiative co-funded by the Technology Strategy Board, will put hydrogen-fueled vehicles into daily business use and deliver the refueling infrastructure to support their operation.

Hyundai joins London Hydrogen Partnership

The LHP has initiated more than £50 million (US$76 million) worth of hydrogen projects, attracting and rolling-out new hydrogen buses, taxis, scooters, refueling stations, materials handling vehicles and fuel cell Combined Heat and Power units to London.

London police trialing Suzuki Burgman fuel cell scooters; first trial outside of Japan

The London Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has begun a trial to test Suzuki Burgman hydrogen-powered scooters. Partners launch $51M hydrogen fuel cell vehicle and infrastructure project in Europe

Automakers, hydrogen fuel suppliers, the Mayor of London’s Office and energy consultancies launched the £31-million (US$51-million) European HyFive project at City Hall in London. Locations are being sought for three new hydrogen refueling stations in London, one in Aarhus and in Odense (Denmark) and one in Innsbruck (Austria).

London adding 51 more all-electric buses to operating fleet

Transport for London (TfL) announced that two additional bus routes, the 507 and 521, will operate entirely with electric single-deck buses from autumn next year. By 2020, as part of the Ultra Low Emission Zone, TfL is committed to ensuring all 300 single-decker buses operating in central London are zero emission (e.g. Earlier post.).

ITM Power to deploy solar-powered hydrogen refueling station at CEME; wind-powered public H2 station opens in South Yorkshire

UK-based ITM Power signed an agreement with The Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) to deploy a Hydrogen Refueling Station (HRS) at the CEME site in Rainham, UK. ITM Power also just opened the first public access hydrogen refueling station, funded by InnovateUK, at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in South Yorkshire.
