SB LiMotive, the joint Li-ion battery venture between South Korea’s Samsung SDI and Germany’s Robert Bosch, plans to invest 500 billion won (some $410 million) in a plant by 2015 to produce batteries for hybrid and electric vehicles (xEVs). SGL Automotive Carbon Fibers LLC, the joint venture between SGL Group and BMW Group ( earlier post ), will build a carbon fiber manufacturing plant in Moses Lake, WA. The CFRP parts and components will then be made from these fabrics at the BMW Group Plant Landshut, Germany. SGL Group holds 51% of the shares and the BMW Group 49%.
