KGaA (SHS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the viability of transforming iron ore pellets into low-carbon hot briquetted iron (HBI) (a form of Direct Reduced Iron, DRI), a steel feedstock ( earlier post ) using green hydrogen generated from hydro-electricity in Canada. SHS brings deep iron and steel making expertise.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to make it easier for manufacturers to gain approval to sell fuel conversion systems. The proposed rule would cover conversions of light-duty vehicles and heavy-duty highway vehicles and engines, and would apply to all clean alternative fuels. Vehicle/Engine Age. Applicability.

has added 92 hybrid-electric trucks to its delivery fleet by converting standard FedEx delivery trucks to hybrid-electric systems. The addition of the 92 trucks increases the FedEx fleet of hybrid-electric vehicles by more than 50%, from 172 to 264. The hybrid conversions were produced in Charlotte, N.C. FedEx Corp.

All of the recessions listed above were caused by oil except the early 2000 recession that was caused by September 11th, 2001. This period in US history saw gas lines and severe unemployment and also a period (in which is atypical during a recessionary period), rising inflation. So what does this have to do with Electric Cars?

When a fuel gas containing hydrogen is passed over the fuel electrode (the anode), the oxygen ions migrate through the crystal lattice to oxidize the fuel.
