When the first gasoline-electric hybrids vehicles began arriving in 1999 and 2000, early adopters did their research and were quite knowledgeable about the then-new and revolutionary transportation mode. Fast-charging with a DC charger (with compatible vehicles) can cut the charge time to a half hour or less. Here’s a brief overview.

The batteries of Vito E-CELL vans are recharged at these locations outside of operating hours. The electric engine, power electronics, converter and AC/DC charger are housed beneath the hood. Mercedes-Benz Vans has produced a series of 2000 E-CELL vehicles since 2011. Charging technology. The bodywork as such remains unaffected.

Volvo has some of the most aggressive goals when it comes to brand-wide electrification, and the new C40 Recharge is a big step in its electric charge towards zero emissions. Its official name is the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric, and it’s available as either a single motor or dual motor (the latter is called the Twin).

The 77kWh battery pack in both versions will be able to accept up to 135kW from a suitably powerful DC fast charger. It also means recharging from 10 to 80 percent will take “just under half an hour”, according to Cupra. Cupra claims a decently quick 5.6 “The Born now and the Tavascan in future years.”
