Univ. of Oklahoma study suggests that biocorrosion associated with ULSD not related to level of sulfur in the fuel

Findings from a study by a team at the University of Oklahoma suggest that the stability of diesel fuel—i.e., Concentrations can range from 0.05% to 14% by weight in crude oils and natural bitumens. A separate analysis of the organosulfur content of the fuels confirmed that they varied widely (4 - >1500 ppm S).

Study: annual climate impact of wild pigs could be greater than 1.1M cars

Our models show a wide range of outcomes, but they indicate that wild pigs are most likely currently uprooting an area of around 36,000 to 124,000 square kilometers, in environments where they’re not native. Using existing models on wild pig numbers and locations, the team simulated 10,000 maps of potential global wild pig density.

CVR Energy selects Haldor Topsoe’s HydroFlex technology for revamp of Wynnewood refinery to renewable diesel, naphtha production

California Energy Commission awards more than $8.5M to bring natural gas- and propane-powered vehicles to California

The California Energy Commission recently approved funding of $8,554,000 to help bring natural gas- and propane-powered shuttle buses, cars and trucks to California’s roadways. Kenworth Truck Company (Kirkland, Washington) is awarded $884,000 for the buy-down of 34 natural gas vehicles of 26,001 pounds and greater gross vehicle weight range.
