As part of the Federal Government’s response to a fire and shutdown at the bp Whiting Refinery in Whiting, Indiana, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael Regan issued an emergency fuel waiver to help alleviate fuel shortages in four states the supply of gasoline of which has been impacted by the refinery shutdown.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced two new proposed federal emissions standards spanning light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles for model year 2027 and beyond. The light-duty vehicle category includes passenger cars and light trucks consistent with previous EPA criteria pollutant and GHG rules.

BMW expects up to 305 miles of EPA-rated range for the i7, an electric version of its flagship 7-Series sedan. The next-generation 7-Series will likely be offered in close to the same form with both gasoline and all-electric powertrains. The i7 will be revealed in April, and is expected to go on sale as a 2023 model.

Ford has confirmed a 25-mpg combined EPA fuel economy rating for the most fuel-efficient version of the F-150 hybrid lineup, which carries the PowerBoost badge. Ford says that 4x2 versions of the F-150 hybrid come in at 25 mpg city, 26 highway, and 25 combined—with a range of 750 miles on a tank of gasoline.
