MECA report assesses technology feasibility for heavy-duty diesel trucks to meet lower NOx standards by 2024

The Manufacturers of Emission Controls Association (MECA) released a report assessing market-ready technologies being commercialized by suppliers of emission control and efficiency components for heavy-duty diesel vehicles to meet lower intermediate standards for oxides of nitrogen (NO x ) by 2024 as a transition to final standards in 2027.

Audi of America officially introduces the new A3 family; plug-in hybrid version coming in 2015

Research shows clean fuel-use for ships off California coast extremely effective in reducing sulfur dioxide pollution

Ships, especially ocean-going vessels, are powered by very large diesel engines that generate a tremendous amount of pollution impacting air quality onshore. One finding was that container ships encountered off the Port of Houston, where no clean-fuel use is required, emitted four times as much sulfur dioxide.

EPA and ARB Present Proposals to Reconsider 2010 SCR Engine Certification Requirements

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have presented preliminary proposals aimed at closing compliance loopholes for medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines using SCR-based NO x emissions control systems for 2011 and later model years.
