The Hertz Corporation, which includes the Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands, has expanded of its Green Traveler Collection car rental fleet to include the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid ( earlier post ) in select cities across the US. All of the Green Traveler cars have fuel efficiency ratings starting at 33+ highway mpg.

Daniel Codd of San Diego will receive $95,000 to design, test and validate a new solar power receiver capable of collecting sunlight at high temperatures.

The 12 EISG projects approved were: CHA Corporation of McClellan will receive $95,000 for a project to demonstrate microwave-based hydrogen production from biogas for reciprocating engines and fuel cells. These grants are capped at $95,000. This technology would increase efficiency and lower production costs.
