Ford is opening an E-Transit registration site today for commercial customers ahead of order banks opening by July. To date, more than 450 commercial customers in North America, including 200 top fleets and fleet management companies, have said they’re interested in purchasing the E-Transit.

Communities throughout California can now purchase all-electric shuttle buses and ADA-equipped vans from Lightning Systems on a new California Association for Coordinated Transportation (CALACT) cooperative purchasing contract. Nonprofits or government agencies can use the new agreement to purchase electric buses once they join CALACT.

As part of the earliest stages of the delivery vehicle replacement plan, a contract for 9,250 commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) internal combustion engine vehicles will also be concurrently awarded to fill the urgent need for vehicles. The Ford E-Transit BEVs are manufactured in Kansas City, Missouri.

RNG is a key part of UPS’ strategy to increase alternative fuel consumption to be 40% of total ground fuel purchases by 2025, supporting the logistics leader’s efforts to reduce the absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of its ground fleet 12% by 2025.

Smith Electric Vehicles US (SEVUS) will finalize the purchase of its United Kingdom-based parent company, Smith Electric Vehicles (UK), creating the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial electric vehicles. The purchase will be split into 20 payments, payable monthly, with the first payment made on completion of the sale.

The new facility—Smith’s second US manufacturing, sales and service center—will not affect production or job levels at Smith’s headquarters in Kansas City, Mo. Smith will lease a 90,000 square foot building near Hunts Point in the South Bronx and make investments in renovations, equipment, training and other project costs.
