Mercedes-Benz introduced the E 300 BlueTEC diesel HYBRID at the Geneva Motor Show. The new vehicle—Mercedes’ first production diesel hybrid, and based on its modular hybrid system ( earlier post )—pairs a 2.2-liter liter four-cylinder diesel engine developing 150 kW (204 hp) with a hybrid module incorporating a 15 kW electric motor.

Mercedes-Benz chose Auto Shanghai 2017 as the venue for the world première of the new S-Class. Several new engines are planned for the new S-Class: in-line six cylinder diesel and gasoline engines as well as a new V-8 biturbo gasoline engine.
