An international team from MIT, Argonne National Laboratory and Peking University has demonstrated a lab-scale proof-of-concept of a new type of cathode for Li-air batteries that could overcome the current drawbacks to the technology, including a high potential gap (>1.2 V) V versus Li/Li +.

Toyota EPU (effectively an electric Hilux) Toyota EPU concept is an electric four-door ute Toyota has been glacially slow to the EV market but at the 2023 Tokyo motor show there were signs the message had finally sunk in. Toyota showed off a concept car called the EPU (or electric pick-up) alongside an electric version of the LandCruiser.

There has been much discussion for over thirty years or more around the use of hydrogen fuel cells as an alternative to the internal combustion engine. Fuel cells had been promoted in some sectors as the best alternative to the internal combustion engine. Hence its supply would not be cheap, renewable nor sustainable in the long term.

Here’s our rough draft, which we’re releasing as we refine the concept—we moved up our plans when we learned about the Tuesday address. Even on land, getting oil from tar sands depletes water and other resources and doubles oil’s carbon footprint. And oil only seems cheap. But let’s realize: defending our nation is never cheap.

The California Sustainable Energy Entrepreneur Development (CalSEED) program announced that the fourth cohort of innovative clean energy concepts has been approved by the California Energy Commission (CEC); 28 companies out of 212 were selected to receive grants of $150,000 each. CalSEED is administered by New Energy Nexus.
