Cummins will provide hydrogen fuel cell electric powertrains integrated into selected OEM partners’ heavy-duty trucks for Air Products, as Air Products begins the process of converting its global fleet of distribution vehicles to hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Cummins and Air Products expect the demonstration phase to begin in 2022.

Together with its customer Apple, DHL is piloting the heavy-duty vehicle, equipped with a fuel cell range extender from VDL, between Breda, the Netherlands, and Brussels, Belgium, as part of the Interreg NW Europe program H2-Share, coordinated by WaterstofNet. It transports deliveries of DHL Express’ customer Apple.

Deutsche Post DHL Group is introducing a global DHL Green Carrier Certification to reward road transport subcontractors for their efforts to become more sustainable. The corridor is one of the busiest road freight routes in Europe connecting key North Sea ports in Belgium and the Netherlands with the Mediterranean port of Genoa in Italy connecting through a network of roads stretching in total 1,300km. The 300kW charging stations are each capable of charging more than 20 E-Trucks per charger each day.
