Well, after yesterday's letdown with the front battery box not fitting into the steel frame, I loaded up on caffeine and pulled out the grinding wheel. Here is the front battery box not fitting into the front rack. Next up is installing the auxiliary battery. Also, the instructions for the DC kit may not apply to the AC kit.

It turns out that if the voltage coming from my batteries fell into the 136 to 149 volt range (EE2NoAccelBat + EE2AccelRamp = 149), then the controller would linearly limit the power going into the motor down to zero when the voltage reached 136. I recommend this alteration to anyone using this kit! Mine was set to 136 volts.

I'm still waiting on the battery racks/boxes from ElectroAuto, so I took care of a bunch of little things that have been neglected so far. Here's the battery tray that the directions said to remove. It's a pity that we have to remove this, but the size of the golf-cart batteries clearly interfere with the latch.

This version had mounting tabs that fit well with the bolt holes from the original kit. The right tab hole lines up with the bolt in the upper right corner of the battery box. I turned on all the lights, including the fog lights and drove around for about 20 minutes.

Since the positive terminal of the auxiliary battery is tied to the unswitched 12V rail, the negative terminal of the battery is at zero volts. The dangling white and green wire go to the ammeter shunt and the dangling black wire I think is not used in the AC kit. Here's the battery box top sitting in place.

For some reason, I had an extra cap-plug left over from the kit, so I used it to protect the cable from the sharp metal edges. I also started researching how to drive the fuel gauge with the voltage on the batteries. The cable now runs neatly behind the seats and into the central armrest.

Anyway, the GT-Line has dual motors, all-wheel-drive, 283kW/700Nm and 505km range (WLTP) from its lardy 99.8kWh battery.
