The true impact of electric vehicles should consider the make-up of the power grids where these cars will be used. Toyota still has not made any money on the Prius. I see the technical complexity of hybrids is finally coming home to roost at Toyota, which has superb engineering. They will not meet my needs. Does that bother you?

If the EV1 was viable (or even close) we would see Ford, Toyota, Honda, etc all with 80 mile cars right now.do In the meantime, Toyota and Honda will eat their lunch while GM pushes both E85 and pure electric. you see that?
