one of the largest US-based, publicly-traded water utilities, is going to transition portions of its larger vehicle fleet to compressed natural gas (CNG). CNG makes sense economically because of it is less expensive than fossil fuels and environmentally because it is a clean-burning fuel and thereby reduces carbon emissions.

The MIT Energy Initiative has released a new report on reducing carbon dioxide emissions from existing coal plants. There is no credible pathway toward prudent greenhouse gas stabilization targets without CO 2 emissions reduction from existing coal power plants. Such plants make up less than half of the existing fleet.

The most recent GREET versions are the GREET1 2017 version for fuel-cycle analysis and GREET2 2017 version for vehicle-cycle analysis. Expanded the power sector in GREET with several natural gas and coal combined heat and power (CHP) and carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies. The first version of GREET was released in 1996.
