The ULEZ has already helped to reduce roadside pollution levels by 44% in central London and 20% in inner London. In the UK, Hyundai Motor has launched a gasoline and diesel scrappage and trade-in scheme that offers up to £5,000 (US$6,416) off the price of a new model and seeks to improve air quality across the UK by making it easier and more affordable to drive a new, lower emission car. i10 will also benefit from £1,500 saving.

Air quality in the UK has been improving significantly in recent decades, with reductions in emissions of all of the key pollutants, and NO 2 levels down by half in the last 15 years.
