Israel-based StoreDot, the developer of extreme fast charging battery technology for electric vehicles ( earlier post ), has demonstrated a prototype 4680 form factor cell that is fully charged in just 10 minutes. Testing at StoreDot facility has shown promising low levels of internal resistance.

Aerospace engineers at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology have developed and patented a process for on-demand hydrogen production from the reaction of activated aluminum powder and water for commercial aircraft applications. The work was reported in a recent paper published in the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy.

BP Ventures has invested $20 million in Israel-based ultra-fast charging battery developer StoreDot. Using this technology, StoreDot is also developing a new type of electric-car battery that will aim to achieve a charging experience that is comparable to the time spent to refuel a traditional car. In January 2007 it was reported from Davos that Shimon Peres was in talks to bring an electric car factory to Israel. If there's one country that ought to have long ago developed a domestic electric car industry it is Israel. I wrote : It's about time. No oil of its own should be reason enough.

Sure, an electric car would be nice, but that would have been last Sunday, when the nearly 80 electric vehicles in a “CO2 Race&# combed the streets of Copenhagen. So were the electric Teslas, Nissans, Renaults, Betterplace vehicles, and Danish cars of the “International Mayor’s EV Parade,&# a couple days later.
