PACCAR to offer Cummins X15N natural gas engine in Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks

PACCAR will work with Cummins to offer the new Cummins X15N natural gas engine ( earlier post ) in Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks. When operating on renewable natural gas (RNG or biomethane) the X15N engine will be able to achieve major reductions in the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions of Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks.

Kenworth and Peterbilt first electric Class 8 trucks up Pike’s Peak; fuel cell and BEV

PACCAR announced that a Kenworth T680 fuel cell electric vehicle and a battery electric Peterbilt Model 579EV became the first Class 8 zero emissions vehicles to drive to the 14,115 foot summit of Pikes Peak in Colorado. We are very excited about the work Kenworth and Peterbilt have done in the development of zero emissions technology.

Kenworth, Peterbilt working with Dana on electric truck powertrain development

PACCAR companies Kenworth and Peterbilt are collaborating on electric powertrain development for trucks. The electric powertrain will be available with range options between 100 and 200 miles. Peterbilt will also integrate a Dana Spicer Electrified e-propulsion system into its 220EV chassis.

Loop Energy fuel cell range-extenders chosen for FAST TRACK project; zero-emission Class 8 drayage trucks

Gulf Oil adds LNG-powered trucks to its transportation fleet

For example, fleets that have more than 10 vehicles that use at least 20,000 gallons per year in a ‘return-to-base operation’ can expect to lock in an after-tax internal rate of return in the 20 to 35 percent range.
