Mercedes-Benz’ DRIVE PILOT system for conditionally automated driving (SAE Level 3) can be ordered in Germany from 17 May as an optional extra for the S-Class for €5,000 and for the EQS for €7,430 (Driver Assistance Package Plus: €2,430 and DRIVE PILOT: €5,000) excl. optical, ultrasonic, radio waves), thereby enabling safe transfer.

Already, in the event of an accident, “eCall” functionality, which is available on the all-new Focus, can automatically call emergency services, and enables occupants to do so manually by pushing an SOS button inside the car. In Germany, a survey revealed that almost half of all drivers don’t know how to form an “emergency corridor”.

Bosch says that its engineers have refined existing diesel technolgoies to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides (NO x ) so significantly that they already comply with future limits. There’s a future for diesel. We firmly believe that the diesel engine will continue to play an important role in the options for future mobility.
