The all-electric Volvo C40 Recharge is available online via volvocars.com in select markets across Europe as of this week. Like the XC40 Recharge electric compact SUV, the C40 Recharge comes with an infotainment systems jointly developed with Google and based on the Android operating system.

ChargePoint’s DC fast chargers would supply Volvo’s C40 Recharge from 20 percent state of charge to 90 percent in just 40 minutes. Volvo Recharge models with Google embedded can use the ChargePoint app to locate and access the Starbucks-located charging stations along the route.

Priced from less than €25,000 ($41,500) in Europe, the retro Renault 5 E-Tech Electric has already been locked in for a launch in Australia, although timing has yet to be announced. Volvo Cars has opened order books for the XC40 Recharge P8 AWD ( earlier post ), the company’s first fully electric car which is based on the best-selling SUV, in selected markets. Production and the first customer deliveries of the XC40 Recharge P8 are scheduled to begin later this year.

The Renault-Nissan Alliance will open a research office later this month in Mountain View, California, directly across from the Google campus. Nissan’s Carwings telematics system, a standard in every Nissan LEAF, includes a seven-inch touchscreen with maps of recharging stations and real-time reports on energy consumption.
